Who Can Apply?

The Newman Family Foundation considers grant proposals from:

  • 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations
  • Educational institutions and schools
  • Community development organizations
  • Programs focused on education and community development

Organizations must serve South Florida communities and align with our mission and focus areas.

Grant Range

Grants typically range from $5,000 to $100,000, depending on project scope and organizational capacity. Larger grants may be considered for exceptional proposals with demonstrated impact potential.

Timeline

We review applications on a rolling basis. The application review process typically takes 4-8 weeks. Successful applicants are notified within 90 days of submission.

Prepare required documentation including organizational background, project description, budget, and evidence of tax-exempt status.

Submit Application

Submit your proposal via email with all required materials. Include a 1-2 page executive summary of your project.

Review & Decision

Our team reviews your application and may request additional information. We communicate our decision and next steps.

Organization Background

Mission statement, history, governance structure, and board information

Detailed Project Description

Project overview, target population, methodology, timeline, and evaluation plan

Budget & Justification

Detailed project budget with line items and explanation of costs

Financial Documents

Most recent audited financial statements, 990 form, and proof of 501(c)(3) status

Impact & Evaluation

Measurable outcomes, success metrics, and plan for evaluating impact

We Don't Typically Fund

  • Individuals or personal causes
  • Political campaigns or advocacy organizations
  • Religious organizations (except faith-based education)
  • Capital campaigns or endowments
  • Retrospective funding for completed projects
